Overview

The EAC Competition Act, provides for sensitization, awareness raising and advocacy functions under Section 42 (h), (i) and (k)which stipulates that the EACA shall ;

  • develop appropriate procedures for public sensitization, consultation and participation;
  • involve the EAC’s sectoral regulatory regimes for purposes of enhancing compatibility with the EAC Competition Law; and
  • undertake studies so as to assess their effects on competition and consumer welfare and publicize the results of such studies.
